Hector's Chair at the State Library of Victoria

I went into the State Library the other day with a specific mission. To find the chair Hector's family donated to the Library to offer a permanent memorial to a man who did so much for Australian writing.

Anyone looking for inspiration can sit in a spot reserved at the State Library of Victoria and hope that inspiration strikes.

Crawford Productions began adapting books for radio from the earliest post war years and continued into television when the time was right; beginning with Australian writer Nacy Cato's 'All the River's Run' and Evan Green's "Alice to Nowhere".

After that Crawfords successfully adapted a host of Australian authors into a filmed mini series format for TV.

It is in the wonderful Reading Room under the dome. I hope many people find it and use it as an inspirational setting.
