About Me
Welcome to my creative corner! My journey has taken me from recording studios and theatre stages to the worlds of history and crime fiction. I love sharing stories, whether they are sung, performed, or written on the page.
From the Stage to the Page
Before I started writing books full-time, my life revolved around music and theatre.
• Theatre Writer: I've written scripts, libretti, and songs, including two stage musicals.
• Arts Journalist: I was a regular contributor to the Arts pages of Australia's largest newspaper.
• Singer: I have performed with my own bands in many genres and backed some of Australia's most famous artists in recording studios.
• Voice Artist: I performed internationally and voiced commercials for everything from soap to dog food!
Award-Winning Non-Fiction
Following my studies in Romance languages, Linguistics, and Fine Arts at Melbourne University, I delved into history to write my debut book, Hector. This biography of Australian TV mogul Hector Crawford won the Royal Historical Society of Victoria (RHSV) History Publication Award and was shortlisted for the Ashurst Business Literature Prize.
Crafting Crime Fiction
My passion for storytelling eventually shifted toward fiction, where I enjoy crafting gripping mysteries.
• The Piano Woman (2021): A time-shift mystery romance.
• Bec Harpin Series: Including Making Up Amanda, One Night, and Shooting Reality.
Life in Ballarat
Today, I live in beautiful Ballarat, Victoria, with my husband and beautiful standard poodle. When not writing, you'll probably find me walking around Lake Wendouree, plotting my next twist!
